April 6, 2025
At 1503 hours on April 6, 2025 Nazareth Fire Department and Mutual aid partner Upper Nazareth Fire Department were dispatched to 124 S. Convent Avenue in Nazareth Borough for a reported High Occupancy Dwelling Fire, caller reporting “smoke from the air conditioner” At 1509 hours Nazareth Police 5007 arrived and reported “heavy smoke” from the dwelling. Engine 5012 responded at 1508 and arrived a short time later and crews began stretching lines and began extinguishing the fire. Upper Nazareth Fire department arrived around the same time and began assisting suppression crews as well as searching adjoining apartment and confirmed that all occupants were evacuated. At 1518 hours crews reported the fire “under control” and they began salvage and overhaul operations. It appeared that the fire was caused by a vehicle style “jumper box” that was charging and overheated. No injuries were reported. Thank you to Nazareth Regional Ambulance, Nazareth Police Department , Upper Mazareth Fire Department and Bethlehem Township EMS for your greatly appreciated assistance during this incident. All crews cleared the scene at 1630 hours.
